10.4. Forward lower frame
Prevention
At removal of the lower forward frame it is necessary to use the device for support of the engine. For removal of spherical hinges it is necessary to use a stripper of spherical hinges. At installation of the spherical hinge it is necessary to use the new forelock fixing a nut of fastening of the spherical hinge from unscrewing.
Removal

| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. The lower forward frame is removed together with the lower levers and the stabilizer of cross stability. |
| 2. Before removal of the lower forward frame support engine weight from the left support. For support of the engine use the special tool shown on rice. Use of the special Opel tool No. KM-263 for support of the engine. Alternatively support engine weight, using the load-lifting mechanism. |
| 3. In the presence take off caps of forward wheels, then weaken bolts of fastening of wheels. Tighten the emergency brake, then lift a forward part of the car and fix on supports. Remove forward wheels. |
| 4. Remove a reception exhaust pipe. On models with DOHC engines unscrew the arm supporting a hose of the oil heater from the right side of a submotor frame. |
| 5. On the one hand the car take the forelock, then unscrew a koronchaty nut, the fixing pin of the spherical hinge which connects the lower lever from a resistant forward suspension bracket. |
| 6. Using a stripper of spherical hinges, take the spherical hinge from a rotary fist. |
| 7. Similarly remove the second spherical hinge on the other side of the car. |
| 8. Check reliability of support of the engine, then unscrew two nuts fixing a back support of the power unit to the lower forward frame. |
| 9. Support by a jack through wooden whetstone the lower forward frame. |
| 10. Unscrew six bolts fixing the lower forward frame to the car bottom. At the same time keep in mind that back bolts also fix the lower levers of a forward suspension bracket (see rice. | 11. Lower a jack with the lower forward frame and take a frame from under the car. |
| 12. If necessary remove the stabilizer of cross stability and the lower levers of a forward suspension bracket from the lower forward frame. |

Installation
Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments...

| 1. If acted, establish a stabiliz of Torahs of cross stability and the lower levers of a forward suspension bracket. |
| 2. Tighten all nuts and bolts the required moment. At the same time you remember that bolts of fastening of a back part of the lower frame to the bottom of the car have to drag on in several stages. |
| 3. Record nuts, the fixing pins of spherical hinges new forelocks. |
| 4. Establish a reception exhaust pipe. |
| 5. On models with DOHC engines establish an arm of support of a hose of the oil heater on the right side of the lower forward frame. |
| 6. Establish wheels and lower the car on the earth. Tighten bolts of fastening of wheels the required moment. |
