10:32. Steering column

Prevention

At removal of a steering column it is necessary to use a special stripper of the cut-off bolts. At installation of a steering column it is necessary to use the new cut-off bolt and new самоконтрящуюся a nut. On models with a safety cushion between a steering column and the tunnel of a floor two additional racks are established.

Removal

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Remove a weight wire from the accumulator. Establish forward wheels in situation for the movement directly forward.

2. Remove the lower panel of finishing in deepening for the driver's legs.

3. On models with adjustment of an inclination of a steering column establish a steering column in the top situation and unscrew the regulator lever.

4. Remove a steering wheel.

5. Using a screw-driver edge as the lever, remove the caps closing screws from the face of casings of a steering column, then unscrew screws of fastening of casings.

6. From a reverse side of the lower casing of a steering column unscrew three screws and remove casings.

7. Disconnect electric sockets from the lock of ignition and switches of lighting and screen wipers. Disconnect the electric socket of a wire of the button of a sound signal from a lock casing.

8. On models with the unregulated provision of a steering column release clamps and remove switches of lighting and screen wipers. On models with an adjustable tilt angle of a steering column unscrew two screws and remove knot of switches of lighting and a screen wiper.

9. Insert a key into the lock of ignition and turn it in situation 2.

10. Using the thin steel core inserted through an opening in an ignition lock casing, release a clamp and take the ignition lock cylinder for the ignition key (see rice. Release of a clamp of the cylinder of the lock of ignition on models with an adjustable tilt angle of a steering column).

11. In the lower part of a steering column unscrew top tightening the bolt fixing the elastic coupling to a steering shaft.

12. Unscrew the bolt fixing a steering column to a dashboard arm (see rice. An arrangement of a bolt of fastening of a steering column to a dashboard arm).

13. Unscrew two bolts from the top arm of a steering column. For a vyvinchivaniye of the right cut-off bolt it needs to be nakernit, drilled and unscrewed, using a stripper for extraction of the cut-off bolts. On the left side of an arm the usual bolt or самоконтрящаяся a nut is established (see rice. An arrangement of the cut-off bolt of fastening of a steering column).

14. Remove a steering column and take it from interior of the car.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER

1. Check that forward wheels of the car are established in situation for the movement directly forward, and top tightening the bolt of fastening of the elastic coupling is in horizontal position.

2. In a new steering column there is a big plastic washer which is established in the lower part of a pipe of a steering column. The washer is necessary for centering of a shaft in a pipe and after installation of a steering column the washer needs to be removed.

3. Establish a steering column, at the same time the lower end of a steering shaft has to enter the elastic coupling. Screw in top tightening a bolt of fastening of the elastic coupling, but do not tighten it an okonchatel but at this stage.

4. Acquire bolts, fixing the top part of a steering column. At the same time use the new cut-off bolt.

5. Screw in the bolt fixing a steering column to an arm of the dashboard and tighten it the required moment.

6. Tighten bolts of the top fastening of a steering column. Tighten the cut-off bolt until, the bolt head will not be cut off yet. Or самоконтрящуюся a nut tighten a usual bolt the required moment.

7. Move a steering shaft up to an emphasis, then tighten top tightening a bolt of fastening of the elastic coupling.

8. Using a screw-driver edge, remove a plastic centering washer from the basis of a steering column.

9. Further installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal. Establish a steering wheel.

10. Check steering work, having made a trip at a small speed with turns.
