3.1.31. Repair of the oil pump

Prevention

At installation of the oil pump use a new sealing ring of a bent shaft.

Dismantling

Unscrewing of screws of fastening of a back cover of the oil pump on the engine of 2,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Remove the oil pump.
2. Unscrew screws and uncover the oil pump (see rice. Unscrewing of screws of fastening of a back cover of the oil pump on the engine of 2,0 l).

Check

Measurement of a gap between teeths of rotors of the oil pump

Measurement of an axial gap of a rotor of the oil pump

Details of the safety valve of pressure on the engine of 2,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Using a marker, note arrange ny an internal and external rotor of the oil pump.
2. Clear all details of the oil pump and check their state.
3. Using a probe edge, measure a gap between an internal and external rotor of the oil pump. 4. Unscrew a bolt of the safety valve of pressure from a forward part of the case of the oil pump and take a spring and a plunger from a pump housing (see rice. Details of the safety valve of pressure on the engine of 2,0 l).
5. Boots of natyazhitel have to rotate freely on axes. If on them there are cracks, chips or considerable wear of a working surface, they need to be replaced.

Assembly

Use of an edge of the screw-driver for removal of an old sealing ring from the case of the oil pump

Use of a tubular mandrel for installation of a new sealing ring of a bent shaft on the engine of 2,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Replace the forward sealing ring of a bent shaft located from the forward party of the case of the oil pump. Using a screw-driver edge, take an old sealing ring and, using a tubular mandrel of the corresponding diameter, establish a new sealing ring (see rice. 2. Check that the interfaced surfaces of a back cover of the pump and a pump housing pure and dry, then apply a thin film of sealant (Opel No. 90485251) on these surfaces and install a back cover on the pump. Screw in screws of fastening of a cover.
3. Install the pump on the engine.
