6.25. Fine tuning of the moment of ignition under the used fuel grade

Model 14 NV

On models with the engine 14 NV the corner of an advancing of ignition is adjusted for use of unleaded gasoline of 95 RON. Readjustment on other grade of gasoline is not provided.

If necessary it is possible to use ethylated gasoline of 98 RON.

SOHC l models 1,6, 1,8 and 2,0


Prevention

On models with the catalyst only unleaded gasoline of 95 RON has to be used. Even if the fuel octane number cap is installed in the car, it cannot be switched.


Arrangement of the cap switching octane number of the used fuel to models of 2,0 l

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Models, except 14 NV, have the cap switching octane number of fuel and located in a back left part of a motor compartment (see the drawing).
2. On the one hand caps there is a marking of A or 98 which corresponds to the provision of a cap when using ethylated gasoline of 98 RON. On the other side of a cap there is a tag of B or 95 which corresponds to situation for use of unleaded gasoline of 95 RON. Originally all cars are intended for use of unleaded gasoline of 95 RON. If you decided to rearrange a cap on other grade of fuel, then it is previously necessary to develop or pump out the remained fuel from the fuel tank.
3. Fill in in the fuel tank fuel, the corresponding grade.
4. Check that ignition is switched off, then release a bracket and remove the cap defining fuel octane number.
5. Turn a cap in such situation that marking of octane number appeared from above, then insert a cap into place and fix by a bracket.
6. Pay attention that gasoline with higher octane number can be used, without rearranging a cap.

Model 20 XE, C20 XE and X20 XEV

On these models instead of a cap of installation of octane number of fuel the ignition moment cap is used. The provision of a cap cannot be changed as it is intended for transfer to the Motronic block of information which is written down in memory.

On these models there is a detonation sensor which in the presence of a detonation in cylinders of the engine reduces an ignition advancing corner. It is necessary to remember that all cars with the catalyst have to be operated only on неэтилиро bathing gasoline.
