5.3.4. The EGR valve (models with the Multec system)
Check
On models with C16 NZ, C16 NZ2 and C18 NZ engines it is necessary to check annually movement of a plate of fastening of a diaphragm of the EGR valve as follows. For check it is necessary to use a small lamp and a small mirror as the plate of fastening is visible only through an aperture from a reverse side of the valve. On models with X16 SZ engines for check of system of recirculation of exhaust gases it is necessary to use специаль Nov the equipment Opel.
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Warm up the engine up to the normal working temperature on turns of idling and quickly open and close a butterfly valve. At the same time the plate of fastening of a diaphragm has to move up at change of depression in an inlet collector. During the operation of the engine on single turns, being careful, move a fastening plate up, at the same time turns of idling have to decrease approximately by 100 rpm. |
| 2. If when conducting check the valve does not work properly, it needs to be cleaned. |
