5.3.2. System of decrease in toxicity of exhaust gases

MULTEC system

The system of catching of vapors of fuel is intended for reduction of number of emissions in the atmosphere of nesozhzheny hydrocarbons.

The fuel system of the car is tight and vapors of fuel gather in the canister with charcoal located under the right forward wing. Vapors of fuel are stored in a canister and at start of the engine get to the highway of air supply in the engine and are burned up in engine cylinders. On models with C16 NZ, C16 NZ2 and C18 NZ engines the adjusting valve opens due to depression by the transferred vacuum tube connected to the throttle case. On models with the C16 SZ engine the valve opens electric signals from the valve of cleaning installed on a cover of a head of the block of cylinders.

MOTRONIC system

Detachment of the electric socket from the valve of ventilation of the fuel tank
The system of decrease in toxicity of exhaust Motronic gases is similar described in section 7 except that the coal filter is run by the block of a control system of the engine via the ventilation valve located in the fuel tank. During the operation of the cold engine or heated-up engine on idling turns for protection of the catalyst against the reenriched fuel mix the valve does not open until the engine does not begin to work under loading. At the same time on a winding of the valve tension moves and fuel vapors pass to the highway of air supply in the engine.

On C20 NE engines the valve of ventilation is installed over nozzles of cylinders 2 and 4. For removal of the valve remove a weight wire from the accumulator and the electric socket from the valve, then mark and disconnect two hoses of ventilation. Remove the valve from an arm or unscrew an arm and remove it together with the valve.

On C20 XE engines the valve of ventilation is located on the left side of the engine under a plait of wires of fuel nozzles (see the drawing). Removal of the valve of ventilation is made in the same way, as well as for the C20 NE engine.

SIMTEC system

The system of decrease in toxicity of exhaust Simtec gases is similar described in section 7.
