5.4.11. Check and adjustment of turns of idling
For check and adjustment of turns of idling it is necessary to use the tachometer working at a photo cell. The tachometer has to react to light reflected by the aluminum foil pasted on a pulley of a bent shaft.

For adjustment of a gap weaken a lock-nut and rotate the adjusting screw. |
| PERFORMANCE ORDER |
| 1. Warm up the engine up to the working temperature, check turns of idling and cool the engine. |
| 2. On the cold engine check a gap between the screw of adjustment and a control lever of the fuel pump. At a temperature of cooling liquid of 20 °C the gap has to be ranging from 0,8 to 1,1 mm. For adjustment of a gap weaken a lock-nut and, rotating the adjusting screw, establish the required gap then establish a lock-nut (see rice. | 3. Start the engine and check idling turns. If turns of idling differ from demanded, weaken a lock-nut and, rotating the adjusting screw, establish the required turns then tighten a lock-nut. |
| 4. Warm up the engine and check idling turns. In the course of warming up of the engine the gap between the adjusting screw and a control lever of the fuel pump has to decrease gradually before full contact of the screw with the lever. Otherwise there is a damage to system of cold start of the engine, and it is necessary to make repair at a maintenance stage. |
