The PIERBURG 2E3 carburetor – two-chamber with the calibrated jets and butterfly valves opening consistently. The butterfly valve of the secondary camera opens only at high turns of the engine under loading. Consecutive opening of butterfly valves provides high economy of fuel at smooth acceleration and uniform motion, and also provides the maximum engine capacity by full pressing of a pedal of an accelerator. The control of the secondary gate is made by vacuum in primary camera. Diameters of elements of primary camera of the carburetor it is less, than secondary. The carburetor is a difficult unit in which there are many systems for providing the operational modes of the engine (see rice. The system of idling of the carburetor works irrespective of other systems and is run by the screw of adjustment of quality of mix.

Calibration of the main jets is made so that the engine worked normally at a half-open butterfly valve. For ensuring giving of the required amount of fuel at the maximum acceleration the vacuum valve of the economizer is used. The valve gives additional amount of fuel at the maximum depression at completely open butterfly valves.

For increase in supply of fuel at acceleration the accelerating pump gives additional fuel to the main diffuser of primary camera. The control of the accelerating pump is made mechanically by a cam from draft of a butterfly valve.

For management of position of the air gate the automatic mechanism, is used by the coping cooled liquid and the lichesky spring which is heating up bimetal. On a cold dvigat of le the bimetallic spring is completely compressed and holds the gate in primary camera in a closed position. In process of warming up of the engine the bimetallic spring extends and opens the air gate of the first camera. Supply of vacuum copes system of movement. At the same time if the engine works with slightly slightly opened gate at uniform motion of the car under small loading the gate is slightly opened and protivody stvut to a bimetallic spring. On engines of 1,8 l there is a cut-off valve. It is the electromagnetic valve which blocks supply of fuel mix in system of idling at switching off of ignition.
