5.1.10. Accelerator cable

Removal

Unscrewing of the screw of fastening of an air chamber

Removal of a bracket of fastening of a cover of a cable of an accelerator to an arm

Removal of a sealing ring of a cable of an accelerator from an arm

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. On early models remove the air filter. On later models disconnect an air duct from the air filter. Then disconnect a vacuum tube and a hose of ventilation of a case from an air chamber. Unscrew three screws and remove an air chamber together with an air duct (see rice. Unscrewing of the screw of fastening of an air chamber).
2. Remove a bracket, the fixing accelerator cable cover to an arm on the carburetor, then remove a sealing ring from an arm (see rice. Removal of a bracket of fastening of a cover of a cable of an accelerator to an arm, Removal of a sealing ring of a cable of an accelerator from an arm).
3. Remove an accelerator cable from the lever of a butterfly valve on the carburetor.
4. In interior of the car remove the lower panel of finishing in deepening for the driver's legs.
5. Remove an accelerator cable cover from an arm on the top part of a pedal and disconnect a cable from an accelerator pedal.
6. Take an accelerator cable in a motor compartment.

Installation

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Installation is made in the sequence, the return to removal taking into account the next moments.
2. Check correctness of an arrangement of a cable of an accelerator.
3. Check that the sealing ring of a cover of a cable of an accelerator is correctly established in an opening of a partition of a motor compartment.

Adjustment

Arrangement of the persistent screw of a pedal of an accelerator

PERFORMANCE ORDER
1. Believe work of a butterfly valve and, if necessary, adjust an accelerator cable.
2. Two adjustments of a cable of an accelerator are applied. The first is a persistent screw on the pedal lever, for adjustment of provision of completely released accelerator pedal (see rice. Arrangement of the persistent screw of a pedal of an accelerator). The second – the bracket fixing an accelerator cable cover in an arm on the carburetor is intended for adjustment of sagging of a cable.
3. The cable of an accelerator has to be adjusted so that at completely released accelerator pedal the cable of an accelerator had small sagging from the carburetor.
4. Check that at completely pressed accelerator pedal the butterfly valve completely opens. Adjustment of a cable of an accelerator is made by shift of the bracket fixing an accelerator cable cover to an arm of the carburetor and the persistent screw of the limiter of a pedal of an accelerator.
